Aqua Blue Seafood Ltd. is a seafood processing company that supplies fresh seafood daily to some of the finest restaurants in Toronto and the surrounding areas. The company specializes in the preparation and processing of seafood products, including the custom cutting, portioning, and packing of seasonal fresh fish, lobster, scallops, mussels, clams, and oysters. Aqua Blue Seafood Ltd. also provides a wide variety of frozen seafood products such as shrimp, scallops, king crab, lobster tails, and an array of frozen fish fillets.
We are currently seeking an experienced Fishmonger to join our team and support our seafood preparation and order-fulfillment operations.
Job duties:
- Cut, clean, trim, portion, and prepare fresh fish and seafood products for wholesale distribution and client orders
- Weigh, package, and label fresh and frozen seafood products for distribution
- Prepare seafood products including fish, shellfish, lobster, crab, scallops, mussels, and oysters according to operational requirements
- Inspect seafood products to ensure quality, freshness, proper storage conditions, and product rotation standards
- Prepare customized seafood orders and assist with packaging and order fulfillment operations
- Maintain seafood preparation equipment, workstations, and sanitary handling areas in accordance with food safety and sanitation procedures
- Handle fresh and frozen seafood products in compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is preferred
- Minimum 7 months of experience in fish handling, seafood preparation, fish cutting, or related food processing is required
- Basic knowledge of fish and seafood handling, filleting, portioning, packaging, and food safety practices is required
- Experience using knives, scales, slicers, or seafood preparation equipment is an asset
- On-the-job training will be provided regarding company procedures, seafood preparation standards, food safety, and sanitation practices
- Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 23 kg
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated and fast-paced environment handling perishable seafood products
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays, as required
